Why We Exsist
The purpose of the Christian church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. The mission of Dundee UMC is to provide a place and opportunity to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, worship God, mature spiritually, grow in fellowship as a Christian family, and serve our neighbor.
Our Vision
The goal of Dundee UMC is to transform lives and our community by sharing the love of God and empowering people to experience the fulfillment of the life offered by Jesus Christ for the growth of his kingdom, power, and glory.
Guiding Principles
Following the teachings of scripture, we seek to embody the gospel of Jesus Christ through Passionate Worship, Intentional Discipling, Radical Hospitality, Salty Service/Risk Taking Mission, and Extavagant Generosity (see Bishop Robert Schnase, Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations [Nashville: Abingdon, 2007]).
Dundee UMC is a medium sized congregation that serves the central Florida area of Dundee, Winter Haven, Lake Wales, Haines City, Auburndale, and Davenport, but people travel as far as Lakeland and Poinciana to attend. We offer meaningful worship, biblically based preaching, relevant Christian education, and engaging opportunities for service. Our strongest gift as a church family is hospitality. Visitors often say that Dundee UMC is one of the friendliest churches they have ever attended, and many who visit decide to make us their church home. All are welcome!
