Pioneer Club

Dundee UMC offers a Wednesday night club program (Pioneer Club) for children ranging from two years old to 5th grade. Each week caring volunteers integrate spiritual and personal development, emphasize evangelism and discipleship, and give children opportunities to learn new skills, make friends, have fun, and develop Christian values that affect every area of their lives. In addition, kids are given numerous opportunities to earn awards or badges through various activities (which are built into the curriculum) in a non-competitive environment. This special element helps build confidence and a personal sense of worth as a child of God. We begin at 6:00 p.m. with a light dinner, and the program starts at 6:30. Live Big: A New Approach to Sunday School

Live B.I.G. helps children see, hear, and live their Belief In God. Short video segments bring faith-filled, high-energy excitement to children with:

characters who model Christian behavior;
travel segments featuring important ministries done by everyday people;
cool music just for kids;
and much more!

Caring teachers prepare well-balanced, multimedia, interactive lessons in a fun environment. By making use of DVD segments, Christian music videos, fun games and activities, and other tools, teachers engage the children on the three primary levels that they learn—hearing, seeing, and doing. 	God’s Love It catches children’s attention with the message of God’s love. Live B.I.G. is an exciting new approach to Sunday school that will grab your children’s attention. It also makes the lesson stick by seamlessly integrating the three ways children learn—hearing, seeing, then living what they learn.
	Living B.I.G. It’s children living out their belief in God. Live B.I.G. is music, art, theater, dance, laughter, sign language, discussion, education, entertainment, sight, sound, cool graphics, hands-on activities, games, and so much more. It’s kids following the examples set by our enthusiastic cast and real-life role models. It’s kids living God’s love together.
	Imagination It’s children’s curriculum with an imagination. Live B.I.G. is the story of God’s love told with refreshing creativity, passion, and relevance.
	Growth It’s more than just a Sunday school lesson. Live B.I.G. will reach your children with today’s teaching tools, particularly with positive use of media. By modeling relationships with God and others, the integrated lessons help kids grow as children of God by taking what they learn from Sunday school into their everyday lives.

APPLICATION TO WORK WITH CHILDREN AND/OR YOUTH

Dundee UMC is a medium sized congregation that serves the central Florida area of Dundee, Winter Haven, Lake Wales, Haines City, Auburndale, and Davenport, but people travel as far as Lakeland and Poinciana to attend. We offer meaningful worship, biblically based preaching, relevant Christian education, and engaging opportunities for service.
