I expected hypocrisy, guilt, and boredom but I received honesty, acceptance, and hope. Failed relationships, bad choices, and worse. I was so tired of running from my problems. I considered going to church, but thought, “If they really knew me they’d never accept me.” But guess what? I was wrong. I was accepted. Most importantly, I found forgiveness from God. I feel like a ton of bricks has been lifted off my shoulders, and while I am not proud of my past I don’t have to run away from it anymore. I am walking toward my future, and I’ve realized that I don’t have to walk alone.
Why People Don't Go To Church· I’d rather sleep in my own bed than in a pew.
· I feel guilty enough.
· I can’t find my polyester suit and paisley tie.
· They’re hypocrites.
· If I hear one more preacher ask me for money!
· I served my time as a kid.
· My parents taught me enough rules for life.
